College Partnership Development

Located in Bacon Hall on the Buffalo State College Campus, CDHS/Research Foundation College Partnership Development office staff fulfill these primary functions:

  • Maintaining liaison with the academic community and coordinating the research activities that enhance the work of CDHS/Research Foundation trainers and staff
  • Preparing the annual CDHS/Research Foundation Request for Proposals and Compendium of Abstracts, which enables college faculty and staff to learn about opportunities to make contributions to the work of CDHS/Research Foundation and which are in turn translated into deliverables for sponsor agencies with training and administrative services agreements with CDHS/Research Foundation
  • Overseeing the degree programs offered to the Erie County Department of Social Services as part of its Employee Education Program (ECDSS-EEP)

College Partnership Development staff play a key role within CDHS/Research Foundation with regard to organizational funding and product development. CDHS/Research Foundation receives Federal funding through training and administrative services agreements with the New York State Offices of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), as well as the Erie County Department of Social Services (ECDSS). However, in order to use those cost-sharing funds, contributions of time must be donated from faculty and staff of State University of New York (SUNY) institutions of higher learning, including Buffalo State College and the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB). The time and effort that these faculty and professional staff contribute to CDHS/Research Foundation through their College Partnership projects and research works as a donation to help meet that cost-sharing requirement.
