College Partnership Program Levels
CDHS/Research Foundation College Partnership Development staff work with faculty and professional staff to enhance products developed by CDHS/Research Foundation for its sponsors. Several kinds of partnerships exist and, depending on specific research and scholarship interests, faculty/staff can participate at one of these five partnership levels:
Fellow
Tasks: Fellows hold specific, funded-service projects through the CDHS/Research Foundation College Partnership Program. Faculty and professional staff are asked to lend their expertise in support of our training programs by participating in funded projects that in turn help us maintain our high standards. Through their College Partnerships, Fellows participate in numerous types of public service activities, conduct research, provide consultation, deliver trainings, and design and write curriculum. Fellows receive invitations to all CDHS/Research Foundation activities, including luncheons and other special events.
Benefits: Fellows also receive a $1,600.00 minigrant stipend and are eligible to become a CDHS/Research Foundation Associate or Ambassador.
Associate
Tasks: Faculty and professional staff who have maintained a continuous, Fellowship partnership of over three years duration are eligible to be considered for an Associate partnership. Continuing Fellows are nominated by College Partnership Development staff for consideration as Associates. As Associates, faculty and professional staff engage in three-year, research, scholarship, or service projects directly related to CDHS/Research Foundation long-term sponsor needs.
Benefits: Associates receive invitations to all CDHS/Research Foundation activities, including luncheons and other special events. Associates also receive a $1,800.00 stipend per year for each year of their three-year project, along with opportunities for continued Associateships beyond their initial appointment.
Student and Faculty Researchers
Tasks: CDHS/Research Foundation is interested in involving faculty and graduate students in various sponsored activities through consultation, instruction, training, evaluation, research, and program development in areas related to our training and administrative services agreements with state and local agencies. We are particularly interested in identifying research literature that will provide our training units with the latest empirically-based research in support of skills-based training. These partnerships support a graduate assistant stipend and involve the collaboration of several faculty and the student in research and scholarship activities related to CDHS/Research Foundation sponsored programs.
Benefits: Buffalo State College and UB graduate and doctoral program students are afforded opportunities to work with faculty having expertise in a particular research area and to work with a CDHS/Research Foundation partner with practical expertise in the area to be studied. Buffalo State College student partners receive a stipend of $ 8,300 per academic year for their individual contributions as a graduate assistant or graduate researcher, while doctoral students at UB receive $15,000 for a twelve-month project. The students also benefit from direct, hands-on experience in working on a CDHS/Research Foundation project. These projects can be included on their current and future resume and vitae and become valuable resources when pursuing their future research interests and professional goals.
CDHS/Research Foundation Ambassadors to the College
Tasks: Four faculty members (each representing one of the campus faculties), and one professional staff member (representing University College) are appointed by CDHS/Research Foundation to promote varied opportunities for CDHS/Research Foundation partnerships. These Ambassadors, who serve one-year terms, must have previously served as either Associates or Fellows. In addition, an Ambassador-at-Large (usually a retired administrator or faculty member) is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Ambassadorship program.
Benefits: Ambassadors receive invitations to all CDHS/Research Foundation activities, including luncheons and other special events. They also receive a $2,000.00 stipend for their work as Ambassadors for CDHS/Research Foundation.
Detailed information about possible College Partnerships is available to all eligible faculty and professional staff who are interested in working with CDHS/Research Foundation to enhance its training offerings and support the needs and projects of CDHS/Research Foundation staff and the constituencies that they serve. Partnership opportunities are described in the annual CDHS/Research Foundation Request for Proposals (RFP), which outlines current and anticipated future needs for research, scholarship, and other types of contributions.
The CDHS/Research Foundation STAMP portal allows for easy online application for a College Partnership, including automatic routing to all partners and college administrators involved in the proposed partnership project, to expedite processing.
