Child Welfare/Child Protective Services Training Institute
With the goal of promoting safety, permanence, and well-being for New York State’s children, the largest component of the New York State Child Welfare/Child Protective Services Training Institute provides outcome-based training to all caseworkers in the State’s child welfare system, from the mandatory core child welfare training for new caseworkers and supervisors to intensive advanced skills for experienced staff. This program trains staff of all local departments of social service and of many nonprofit human service agencies who work in the areas of child protective services, preventive services, and foster care and adoptive services. This cutting-edge training incorporates a solid grounding in child welfare best practice, policies, and laws with advanced expertise in training methodologies, multimedia design, and the latest technology for classroom and distant learning environments.
Adolescent Services Training Program
As part of the New York State Child Welfare/Child Protective Services Training Institute, the Adolescent Services Training Program provides free training and technical assistance to 17 local districts and agencies with contracts to provide independent living services and self-sufficiency training to adolescents in Western New York. |
