About Us
Children with HIV/AIDS Training Project
sponsored by the
New York State Office of Children and Family Services Bureau of Training

The Center for Development of Human Services (CDHS) HIV/AIDS Training Institute provides New York State child welfare staff, foster/adoptive parents and respite care providers with the most current information available about HIV infection, treatment, and prevention, along with the skills they need to work with HIV-infected children and youth. We invite you to join us at our offices—or to request that we come to yours—to take advantage of any of our free Introductory or Advanced HIV/AIDS courses developed for those who work with youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

On-site Training/Technical Assistance

On-site training sessions are available to agencies and local districts across New York State. Whether delivered to agency staff or foster/adoptive parents, these offerings are available in 1/2-day, 1-day, or 2-day sessions and are designed to provide either condensed or complete versions of our introductory/refresher and advanced courses (listed above) or specific HIV-related technical assistance.

To view a schedule of or to register for one of our upcoming offerings, please speak with your Staff Development/Training Coordinator and/or visit stars.bsc-cdhs.org. To find CDHS HIV/AIDS trainings, use the following filters on the STARS training calendars for Voluntary Agencies or Local Districts:

Provider = SUC Buffalo - CDHS, Course Content = AIDS
