College Relations Group: Faculty and Professional Staff Partnership Program
The CDHS College Relations Group works with faculty and professional staff to establish partnerships to enhance the Center’s work with sponsor agencies. Several kinds of partnerships exist and, depending on your research and scholarship interests, your can participate at one of five partnership levels.
Advisor
Each semester you will choose to receive a CDHS curriculum to review and rate for effectiveness, accuracy, and educational value; develop test questions for in-service training curriculum; or review and rate Web sites related to training topics. A Buffalo State College faculty member who has had a longstanding Associateship with CDHS is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Advisor program.
Advisors receive invitations to all CDHS activities, including advisor breakfasts, fellowship presentations, annual faculty and staff recognition receptions, and other special events. Advisors are also eligible to become Fellows.
Fellow
Fellows hold specific, funded-service projects through the CDHS Minigrant Program. Faculty and professional staff are asked to lend their expertise in support of our training programs by participating in funded projects that in turn help us maintain our high standards. Through minigrants, Fellows participate in numerous types of public service activities, conduct research, provide consultation, deliver trainings, and design and write curriculum.
Fellows receive invitations to all CDHS activities, including luncheons and other special events. Fellows also receive a $1,600.00 minigrant stipend and are eligible to become a CDHS Associate or Ambassador.
Associate
Faculty and professional staff who have maintained a continuous, Fellowship partnership of over three years duration are eligible to be considered for an Associate partnership. Continuing Fellows are nominated by the CDHS College Relations Group for consideration as Associates. As Associates, faculty and professional staff engage in three-year, research, scholarship, or service projects directly related to CDHS long-term sponsor needs.
Associates received invitations to all CDHS activities, including luncheons and other special events. Associates also receive a $1,800.00 stipend for their project and opportunities for continued Associateships beyond their initial appointment.
Student and Faculty Researchers
The Center is interested in involving faculty and graduate students in various CDHS activities through consultation, instruction, training, evaluation, research, and program development in areas related to our contracts. We are particularly interested in research literature that will provide our training units with the latest empirically-based research in support of skills-based training. These partnerships support a graduate assistant stipend and involve the collaboration of several faculty and the student in research and scholarship activities related to CDHS’ sponsored programs.
Students not only have the opportunity to work with faculty having expertise in a particular research area and to work with a CDHS partner with practical expertise in the area to be studied.
CDHS Ambassadors to the College
Three faculty members (each representing one of the campus faculties), and one professional staff member are appointed by CDHS to promote varied opportunities for CDHS partnerships. These ambassadors, who serve one-year terms, must have previously served as either Associates or Fellows. In addition, an Ambassador-at-Large (usually a retired administrator or faculty member) is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Ambassadorship program.
Ambassadors receive invitations to all CDHS activities, including luncheons and other special events. They also receive a $2,000.00 stipend for their work as Ambassadors for CDHS.
Partnerships are obtainable through the yearly CDHS Request for Proposals (RFP), which is available to all eligible faculties and professional staff who are interested in working with CDHS to enhance its training offerings and support the needs and projects of Center staff. |
