Beth Graff-Baker |
Beth, who began with CDHS in 1983, has extensive knowledge and experience in all phases of print production and graphic design. First hired as a graphic designer, she was originally kept busy working on the Center-developed Common Core curriculum. However, the Center was growing so quickly that she soon found herself in the position of hiring additional staff members in order to meet the continuously expanding demand for an increasingly wide range of marketing and graphics products. She now supervises three full-time graphic designers and one part-time illustrator whose individual and combined creativity embellishes countless announcements, brochures, curriculum materials, desk aids, multimedia presentations, and conference folders, to name just some their most important products.
Early each year Beth develops annual production schedules for conferences and special events. She and her team then work with CDHS staff and outside contractors in preparing Center documents to be designed, desktop published, and printed. She also coordinates the design and production of all marketing and conference materials for the Center and acts as liaison with outside vendors and printers. Applying her amazing knowledge of a various printing options, papers, bindings, and packaging techniques, she plays an active role in the production and procurement of visual support materials that showcase her staff’s artistic talents. She also oversees the bidding and purchase of printed office materials for all five CDHS office locations and, when exceptional workflow demands require, arranges for outsourcing of print jobs in order to meet critical deadlines and provide the best possible customer service.
